Looking Back to Shape the Future
- For 30 years, the movement for Hawaiʻi’s keiki has evolved, strengthened, and grown. From the founding of the Good Beginnings Alliance in 1996 to the emergence of Hawaiʻi Children’s Action Network in 2015, our community has carried forward a shared vision: Hawaiʻi is the best place in the nation to raise a child. All keiki in Hawaiʻi are safe, healthy, and ready to learn.
Our 30th Anniversary theme, Looking back to shape the Future, invites us to look across time:
- PAST: The foundation built by GBA and the champions who ignited Hawaiʻi’s early childhood advocacy movement.
- PRESENT: HCAN’s statewide impact, community partnerships, and bold leadership for families today.
- FUTURE: A collective vision for the next 30 years — one where policy, equity, and community power shape a better tomorrow for every child.
On September 19, we come together not only to celebrate this journey, but to honor the people and moments that shaped it — and to invest in what comes next.
